As the semiconductor industry continues to evolve, conversations are no longer confined within individual markets, they are taking place at a regional level, where perspectives, priorities, and opportunities intersect.
The Southeast Asia Networking Session, held alongside SEMICON China 2026, was one such platform. Bringing together government agencies, industry players, and ecosystem partners from across the region, it created space for meaningful exchanges on how Southeast Asia is positioned within the global semiconductor landscape.
During the session, YB Datuk Khaidhirah Binti Abu Zahar, Deputy EXCO of Investment, Industry & TVET Development of Melaka, contributed to the regional dialogue by presenting Melaka’s investment landscape, outlining how the state continues to strengthen its role through strategic connectivity, a growing talent pipeline, and an increasingly mature industrial ecosystem.
Beyond the presentation, both YB Datuk Khaidhirah and Datuk Ginie Lim, CEO of Invest Melaka, engaged with stakeholders from across Southeast Asia and China, exchanging perspectives and exploring areas of mutual interest.
They also had the opportunity to connect with Ms Lily Feng, President of SEMI China and Ms Linda Tan, President of SEMI Southeast Asia on the sidelines.
Remaining present and engaged in these platforms is essential for Melaka to stay aligned with the direction of industry growth.
