Melaka Advances Smart Energy Transition Through Strategic Engagement with FENECON

22 April 2026

Energy transition conversations are evolving. It is no longer just about generating clean energy, but about how that energy is managed, balanced, and made reliable at scale.

Yesterday, we hosted FENECON in Melaka, a Germany-based energy storage solutions provider exploring the potential of establishing a presence here. The delegation was led by CEO of FENECON, Mr Thomas Goesswein.

Chaired by our CEO, Datuk Ginie Lim, the session brought together key stakeholders including MCORP, Malaysian Investment Development Authority Melaka, Melaka Green Technology Corporation, and utility partners. The exchange reflected a shared understanding that the shift towards a low-carbon and smart energy future is already in motion.

In Melaka, this transition is already taking shape, through structured climate targets, growing renewable capacity, and the development of an integrated energy ecosystem.

Our engagements, including brief site visits to key industrial locations such as GTP and EPMB, offered a closer look at how these developments are materialising on the ground.

In many ways, Melaka is entering a new phase, where policy, infrastructure, and industry are no longer developing in isolation.

And it is within this convergence that meaningful opportunities begin to take shape. We look forward to continuing the dialogue with FENECON.
