What do businesses on the ground need to support their growth?
That question was at the centre of a strategic industry engagement session held in Melaka as part of the Ministry of Finance’s State Tour in preparation for Budget 2027.
Coordinated by Invest Melaka together with UPEN Melaka and relevant government agencies, the session was led by YB Tuan Liew Chin Tong, Deputy Minister of Finance, with Datuk Ginie Lim, CEO of Invest Melaka, serving as moderator.
The floor was opened to representatives to share their experiences, priorities and areas where further support is needed. Among those contributing were industry captains from Dominant Opto Technologies Sdn. Bhd. and Cohu Malaysia, alongside other businesses operating in Melaka.
The conversation covered practical issues including infrastructure, logistics, talent and the business environment.
Bringing these perspectives directly into the Budget 2027 discussion helps ensure that policy considerations are informed by the realities faced by businesses.
