Honda Malaysia reached another milestone with the launch of its Solar Photovoltaic (PV) System at its Melaka Plant in Alor Gajah. The project was officiated by the Chief Minister of Melaka, YAB Datuk Seri Utama Ab Rauf bin Yusoh, together with Honda Malaysia Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Narushi Yazaki.
The RM14 million investment reflects Honda Malaysia’s commitment to sustainable manufacturing while supporting its long-term carbon neutrality goals.
Featuring an integrated Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), the project makes Honda Malaysia the first automotive manufacturer in the country to adopt the technology at its manufacturing facility.
The launch complements Melaka’s broader efforts to accelerate its green industrial agenda by encouraging greater adoption of renewable energy and ESG practices across the manufacturing sector.
As industries continue to evolve, initiatives such as this demonstrate how innovation and sustainability can go hand in hand.
