Handshake@SEMICON SEA 2026 brought together industry leaders, institutions, and government representatives.
Among those present was CEO of Invest Melaka, Datuk Ginie Lim, alongside Ms Kati Ferry, CEO of EUROCHAM Malaysia, during the session hosted by the European Union.
One of the notable sessions featured Mr Eng Seng Meng, Senior Vice President of Infineon Technologies Malaysia, who shared perspectives on the evolving semiconductor landscape, including the importance of talent development and industry collaboration in supporting long-term industry growth.
Infineon’s presence in Melaka, home to its largest backend manufacturing site with more than 11,000 employees, continues to reflect the state’s established role within Malaysia’s semiconductor ecosystem.
The session also provided an opportunity for Invest Melaka to continue its ongoing efforts in promoting the German Technology Park (GTP) and positioning Melaka as a strategic base for international companies looking to expand their operations.
As semiconductor supply chains continue to evolve globally, such platforms remain valuable spaces for industry engagement, exchange of ideas, and regional connectivity.
