Expanding Regional Collaboration at Southeast Asia Networking Event
As part of the programme, Melaka was represented by YB Datuk Khaidhirah binti Datuk Seri Abu Zahar, m Deputy EXCO for Investment, Industry, and TVET Development for the state of Melaka at a Southeast Asia Networking Event held alongside SEMICON China 2026 at Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
The platform brought together strategic partners from ASEAN countries including Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, alongside leading semiconductor industry players from China. It provided valuable opportunities to strengthen networks, foster collaboration, and explore high-impact investment prospects.
During the engagement, Melaka was positioned not only as a state rich in heritage, but increasingly as a forward looking investment destination in Southeast Asia. Backed by a strong industrial ecosystem, progressive policies, and continuous talent development through TVET, Melaka offers a competitive value proposition to global investors. Three new industrial areas in Melaka were also introduced as part of ongoing efforts to promote ready and strategic locations for future investments.
The focus remains on strengthening Melaka’s role in the semiconductor value chain, attracting quality investments, and building sustainable regional partnerships that support long-term economic growth.
