Semiconductor cooperation between Europe and Malaysia continues to take shape through direct industry engagement on the ground.
In conjunction with SEMICON SEA 2026, an Austrian semiconductor trade delegation led by Mr Reinhart Zimmermann, Commercial Counsellor, Advantage Austria visited Melaka to explore potential partnerships with local industry players.
The engagement was facilitated by Invest Melaka, led by CEO Datuk Ginie Lim, as part of ongoing efforts to connect international delegations with established semiconductor players in the state.
A key stop was Possehl Electronics Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., received by Mr Joseph Chan, Managing Director, South East Asia. The session began with an introduction to the company’s operations, followed by a walkthrough of its manufacturing facilities in the Batu Berendam Free Trade Zone.
As global supply chains continue to evolve, such engagements help translate international interest into on the ground industrial exposure within Malaysia’s ecosystem.
