Deputy Finance Minister Visits Batu Berendam FIZ Operations

Every industrial zone is a network of operations that keeps businesses moving.

This was the focus during the Ministry of Finance Malaysia’s visit to the Free Industrial Zone (FIZ), Batu Berendam, where YB Tuan Liew Chin Tong, Deputy Minister of Finance, together with Datuk Ginie Lim, CEO of Invest Melaka, visited the Royal Malaysian Customs Department.

The engagement looked at the operations and facilities within the FIZ, as well as the requirements that affect companies carrying out their day-to-day activities there.

Representatives from MIDA and JKR also took part in the engagement, bringing together the agencies involved in different aspects of the zone’s operations.

For businesses in the FIZ, matters such as customs processes, infrastructure and inter-agency coordination have significant impact on how smoothly they operate.
